简介: 西历2018年、日本突然出现谜之物体“ヘテロダイン”。对于ヘテロダイン发动军队的总攻击却没有任何意义、最终的只有造成使用OE兵器的惨事才终结这件事。因此为了击退他们而由国连安全保障军（安保军）建造超级机器人“大铁卫”、事件后也订立“界震灾害关连法”并且基于该法律让安保军中对抗ヘテロダイン的部队民营化，让他们移交到以对抗ヘテロダイン为目的民间警备公司“21世纪警备保障”管理、此后的12年间，由于ヘテロダイン并未出现而让它变成“无用的废铁”、就连大铁卫的维修管理也由企画开发部的“宣传2课”把它当作宣传活动的一部分来负责。不过在西元2030年秋天的某日、热海突然出现ヘテロダイン。刚好在现场的大铁卫驾驶兼21世纪警备保障公司职员的赤木、无视避难命令，起动大铁卫为了灾害支援而出动了。
