简介: 公元前五百九十年，中国正处于春秋时代，谁侯争霸，在晋国发生了一件惨绝人环的事。当时相国赵盾为人刚正不阿、嫉恶如仇，发现屠夷大夫勾结外邦，力奏必需处死，但却将屠夷的独子屠岸贾赦免，以承屠家香火。屠母对赵盾恨之入骨，一心严厉督促屠岸贾，时时晓以家仇不共戴天。另一方面，晋灵公即位，由赵盾辅政，灵公性好嬉游，对赵盾的严苛管束，十分不满。屠岸贾因缘际会，处心经营，深得灵公信任，成为心腹。灵公听信了屠岸贾的挑拨，将三代忠良的相国赵盾全家抄斩，一日之内血流成河，三百二十七人因而惨死。但是天右忠良，正义在人间，八位忠义之士不惜身入险境，历经鞎辛，甚或牺牲生命，终于保全了赵家血脉的存亡绝续。
