简介: 安阳是一家国营服装厂的先进工作者，丈夫德忠是她当年下乡从农村带进城的。尽管德忠任劳任怨地伺候着岳母、妻子、妻妹（安月）和女儿（安安），并经营一家小菜店，但安母还是看不上这个农民出身的倒插门女婿，而安阳则因忙于厂里的工作总是忽视丈夫的存在。在生活、亲情的夹缝和角落中独自"挣扎"的德忠，与菜店雇工农村姑娘白灵日久生情，俩人在一次情不自禁时恰巧被安月撞见。服装厂效益不好，安阳所在车间被取消，她拒绝了厂领导的挽留，不相信自己找不到工作。然而，人才交流中心却让安阳碰了一鼻子灰，她开始反思自己。
