简介: 故事发生在今天的海口，发生在两个从内地迁居而来的家庭中。赵尔东和简芳是一对恩爱夫妻，赵尔东平和乐天，简芳贤淑好强，他们还有一对逗人喜爱的龙凤胎，男孩叫赵乐，女孩叫简兰。此外还有一个生活中常见的人物关系：“聪明姐姐傻弟弟”——简芳的弟弟简圆，一个口能言手不随的北京大爷。总之，赵尔东的生活看上去生趣盎然。胡杨是个事业有成的男人，但作为父亲与丈夫，他生活的开端有些草率。他和刘海兰未婚先有子，所以草草成婚，之后是一段艰难岁月。胡杨求学工作，下海从商，刘海兰彻底自我牺牲，拉扯孩子操劳家务，眼下胡杨的事业正蒸蒸日上，儿子胡可即将成年，刘海兰则完全成为家庭妇女，胡杨感到情感生活一片空白。在图书馆胡杨遇见了简芳，一场风波由此开始。
