简介: 安吉拉希望成为一名母亲，但在这之前，她需要演练母亲的生活，以确定自己是否做好了准备。于是，内森找来不同年龄段的演员在安吉拉的人生中饰演儿子，并为她构建了一个完整的生活场景进行排练。黑人寇尔欺骗女性友人翠西亚，说自己有硕士学历，一骗就是十二年，内森造出一家酒吧，在酒吧中为寇尔排练道歉的场景，以让寇尔在真正道歉时胸有成竹。帕特里克可以获得一笔遗产，但遗嘱执行人、帕特里克的弟弟却怀疑帕特里克的女友拜金，因此不愿执行遗嘱，内森为帕特里克演练和弟弟交涉的时刻，以帮助他顺利获得遗产。在所有彩排中，演员都是重要组成部分，所以内森必须培训演员，他不但让演员们去成为他们所饰演的人，还“潜入”演员队伍，观察“内森”如何教学，从中思考这些教学是否有效。
