简介: 影片讲述了武则天的一生。少女武则天被唐太宗选为才人，太宗患病，武则天与太子李治产生恋情。太宗驾崩，李治即位，是为高宗。高宗喜女色不好政治，将武则天封为宸妃。武则天具有强烈的政治野心，将侄子武三思等人安插在军机部门位居要职。为清除异己，武则天不惜亲手掐死自己女儿以嫁祸王皇后。王皇后被废，武则天被尊为天后，开始展示惊人的政治才能。高宗去世后，武则天废掉儿子中宗，自号“圣神皇帝”，改国号为周，进行了大刀阔斧的政治改革。
