简介: 建于1899年的上绒布寺位于珠峰北麓，是地球上海拔最高的寺庙。阿古桑杰是寺中唯一的僧人，他将珠峰视作空行母的化身，人类不应当打扰她，但他的儿子却是一名出色高山向导，他们在每年登顶期最大限度地保障登山客的安全，好让他们不断突破自己，前往独自无法抵达的高处。电影讲述的就是这样一僧一寺、一座山、一群人的故事。
